Also take into considerations of Customer specific requirements, including QAP\/ Drawing \/ Specification etc.<\/p>\n<p><strong>General Test on structural Steel products<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As per Inspection Experts view, unless until specified the Test requirements by clients\/ supplier depend on the application \/ uses of the steel products. The general Test on Structural Steel Products are<\/p>\n<p>Types of tests on Finish Goods.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Chemical Tests &#8211; Chemical Composition Test<\/li>\n<li>Tensile Strength Test<\/li>\n<li>Bend Test<\/li>\n<li>Impact Test<\/li>\n<li>Y groove crackability tests<\/li>\n<li>Yield stress<\/li>\n<li>Elongation<\/li>\n<li>Charpy test<\/li>\n<li>Hardness<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The Following Non-Destructive tests may be performed on Structural Steel Products <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dye penetration test<\/li>\n<li>Magnetic Particle test<\/li>\n<li>Radiography Test<\/li>\n<li>Ultrasonic tests.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Inspector performing the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.osscertification.com\/third-party-inspection\/\"><strong>Third Party Inspection<\/strong><\/a> of Structural product, must be aware about the defects of Structural steel Products. There are many types of Defects on Structural steel product, But the most common defects on Structural steel products are given below for reference of Inspection Engineer \u2013 who are performing Inspection on Behalf of Third-Party Inspection agency.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Type of Defects in Structural Steel which the inspector may come across.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Flaws<\/li>\n<li>Lamination<\/li>\n<li>Rough \/ imperfect edges.<\/li>\n<li>Cracks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Third Party Inspection of Structural Steel Product<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Generally following Inspection stages are performed by the professional Third-Party Inspection Agency for Inspection of Structural Steel products, unless until clients have some special Inspection instructions or requirements.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Document Review<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The document review shall be performed prior to Inspection of Structural steel \u2013 The Inspection Engineer may verify the Following documents, but not limited<\/p>\n<p>QAP<\/p>\n<p>Drawing<\/p>\n<p>WPS, PQR &amp; WQR<\/p>\n<p>Test report of Raw Material<\/p>\n<p>Calibration Certificate of Monitoring and Measuring Equipment\u2019s<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Material Inspection<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>During Raw Material Inspection, the following to be checked but it is not limited<\/p>\n<p>Chemical composition.<\/p>\n<p>Mechanical properties<\/p>\n<p>Dimensional Inspection<\/p>\n<p>Physical Qty Verification<\/p>\n<p>Defects on Raw Material<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Inspection During Fabrication<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The fabrication activities may be \u2013 Cutting, Bending, Punching, Drilling, Trimming, welding etc<\/p>\n<p>So during the Fabrication Inspection, the Dimensional Inspection of product to be performed as per Approved Drawing \/ QAP .. But for Welding Inspection the NDT test required to be checked to ensure that welded parts are meeting the NDT Test requirements as specified in QAP \/ Approved Drawing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Inspection at Bolting and Riveting Stage<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If the structural Steel products have Bolting and Riveting provision based on its application. The Inspecting Engineer Must Check the Dimensions of Hole and Where Bolting \/ Riveting is done along with quality of Blot &amp; Rivet (which are meeting the specification requirements).
