ISO 9001:2015 Certification is an ISO standard that covers the requirements an organization ought to maintain within its quality system for attaining the certification of ISO 9001. The ISO 9000 family of standards consists of several different documents, but among all those ISO 9001 is the only standard in the 9000 family that requires certification. The current version is ISO 9001:2015 which covers the requirements which an organization must maintain in order to keep their quality system updated and to attain the ISO 9001 certification.
This standard is certified to help companies meet their customer’s needs and requirements for their products or services alongside fulfilling any regulatory requirements. Mostly the entire organization will seek certification, but the scope of the Quality Management Systems can be tailored to enhance the performance of a particular facility or department.
The ISO 9001:2015 Certification is a newer revised version of the Quality Management Systems (QMS) standard that was published on 15 September 2015, as the 4th edition of the ISO 9001 standard. This new QMS has been made to replace the ISO:2008 and after 3 years of the publication of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 9001:2008 will not remain valid.
What are Role & Responsibilities of ISO 9001:2015 Certification in business?
Clause 5.3 gives a specific mention of what QMS roles and responsibilities must be assigned by the top management:
QMS Conformance Responsibility
A team of several employees needs to make sure that the company processes are being adhered to the requirements of ISO 9001:2015. This is an extremely important step that should be catered to at the beginning itself of the implementation of QMS, but this responsibility carries further as the QMS process is improved and maintained over time. With the advancement in responsibilities taken, someone needs to ensure that the changes and processes do not lead to the removal of essential requirements of ISO 9001:2015 certification.
Process Conformance Who will be to ensure that the processes used in your business result in the outputs that they were intended to provide? This process conformance is mostly done with the assignment of the process owners who are suggested to identify key performance indicators, often referred to as KPIs that tell them if the process is working as expected or not.
Reporting of QMS Performance
The management is required to review and check the performance of the Quality Management Systems, but the question arises who will gather the information and report on it? ISO 9001:2015 also includes reporting about things like posting of information for employees so that they know how well their processes are doing.
Promoting Customer Focus
Customer Focus is an essential component of ISO 9001:2015 certification provided by OSS Certification services and thus they help your business to be responsible for making sure that all employees understand this importance and how their processes affect customer satisfaction.
The integrity of QMS during Change
The integrity of QMS during change is linked to items 1 and 2, this is so because, as you will be working on and improving your processes, your company needs to ensure that when you make the improvements, you do not result in making your QMS non-conformant to ISO 9001:2015 or defeating the intended purpose of the entire process.
